I dont think Geekbench is a good cross-platform benchmark, given what it measures

Geekbench is the only consumer usable cross-platform benchmark. It matches SPEC differences between platforms

Does it test hardware, or hardware plus software that can be different on different platforms?

What degree of OS-indepedence do you think is reasonable to expect from a consumer-facing benchmark suite like Geekbench?

Does that matter? I don't care of Apple's thread scheduler is faster or slower than Windows' or if their throttling algorithm behaves differently, I just want to see how it performs in a given task.

AFAIK it's mostly self-contained outside of basics like malloc. If you have any evidence to the contrary, post it.

I don’t either, but these are the only benchmarks Xiaomi provided!

Geekerwan has an excellent video [1] where they run the new Spec 2026 benchmark on the development board they received.

On the contrary, it is actually good. For all the hand wringing when someone’s favourite platform loses out on a Geekbench comparison, the benchmarks are quite consistent, even across platforms, and track SPEC results fairly accurately.

Of course it’s not perfect, but then, nothing is.
