As far as I can tell this works when people search for you by domain. But what happens when you comment on somebody's post? Will they see @user@domain.com or @user@mastodon.social or whatever?

I'd really like to bring my own domain to mastodon but I'm not confident it works fully yet.

@user@domain.com Its similar to how delegation works in the Matrix Protocol.

My understanding is that OP is running their own Fediverse server under fedi.aeracode.org. The challenge was that the server was not running at the root of the web server hence the need for the redirect code and the resulting blog post. But yes, OP can now act under @user@domain.com in the Fediverse, reply as such etc.

My original comment related to Andrew saying he wasn't going to create his own, not about whether or not other Django based ActivityPub projects existed. There are likely others beyond Andrew's and Marnanel's.

This should also work for Pleroma too.
