I do not disagree with you at all; however college or school does not necessarily educate you; the education you speak of can be obtained elsewhere these days and much more cheaply. This also is relatively new to the world - the ability to obtain philosophy, art, and other liberal arts knowledge without going to a college or university...not to say there is no place for it in institutions of higher learning; but for the vast majority of people a great liberal arts education can be obtained without institutions of higher education but the education of a civil engineer - not so much.
