Never had an issue with this. Change your shell prompt to include the history line number. Remember, it's session dependent - if you have two simultaneous shells, the command number can be the same across both of them (so don't expect it to always work across different terminal sessions).
When reviewing a candidate, I don't think I've ever focused on the work timeline and making it complete. What matters to me is that you have experience in the thing I need help in. Everything else is a bonus. I would be asking about the things on the resume and trying to get more detail which would help me understand how much actual experience you have.
A recruiter's prime objective is to spend the least amount of time to get the person the highest paid job. That's how they get paid. I'm actually very annoyed that companies use recruiting firms so much, they are terrible and don't actually get you good candidates, just qualified candidates.
Buy the Macbook. I have working on getting a Dell developer edition. I picked up a release older than current of a 15" Macbook Pro from Best Buy for ~$500 off MSRP. 512GB pcie SSD, Core i7, 16gb of ram, retina screen, etc. Cost be about 2.2k. I haven't regretted it. I price this machine against current non-apple w/ linux support and I am still looking at ~3k for them. In addition, their batteries aren't as long as this Macbook. Do yourself a favor, the Mac is the cheapest price for the hardware and it's faster because the SSD is PCI not SATA. (That said, expect that WWDC will include new Macbook Pros and whatnot). BTW, my coworker uses a 13" Air. He uses it for VMs and development. I only got this Mac because I had a requirement for discrete graphics and video editing.
Note that SmartConfig is a TI-specific technology only available in the Spark Core (which is based off the popular CC3000 module). The Photon is based off a Broadcom chip and only appears to support Soft-AP provisioning (where the device presents itself as an access point that a phone/tablet/computer connects to in order to configure Wifi credentials.)
I'm excited to try out a Spark that isn't using the SmartConfig entirely because I'm unable to get it to connect to my WiFi network at work (running an enterprise WiFi setup using Cisco's APs)
