Suleyman's description of how AI works is pig ignorant. All AI generates an emotive character between the user and the training data that is the AI's guess at what the user wants to interact with. Its an illusion at that layer- anyone who claims soul exists at a deeper level doesn't understand how the tool functions.

This is distinct from the very real safety issue of AI making dangerous information available to bad actors.

Suleyman's entire point is that AI should not be anthropomorphized.

You communicate with AI anthropomorphically, and users choose products based on how it feels to use them.

Isn't that exactly his point?

Putin’s exit narrative requires escalation. Defeat vs Ukraine is a pathetic wound- “we would have won if it weren’t for.. europe” is preferable to narcissistic permanent victimhood.

Elon bought X for the bot problem, not because of it.

Elon bought X the same reason Trump made Truth Social.

You are both right.

Just more mismanagement by Sam.

It is interesting to see CEOs of big tech companies are so convinced they are always right that they start sidestepping any internal review of communication. Often to the detriment of the company.

My first thought was: did Sam write this?

At least in the US, does the right have a coherent platform for an LLM to grasp onto?

They haven’t had a major policy platform in two decades and their cultural modus operandi is reactionary.

Not to mention, as an informal rule, the heavily-coded emotive underpinnings of right wing support are never talked about openly in public.

AI isn’t trained to have a reactionary/negative judgmental response on any query.

I think you may be confusing 'the right' more broadly with the current Republican party. There are absolutely coherent conservative viewpoints that mirror/oppose those that we consider 'the left', which aren't "reactionary" by nature.

I’m not sure you realize that you:

- Posted a reactionary/default negative expression

- Leaned on code-heavy lexicon

- Did not offer a coherent position an AI could meaningfully process

The ephemerality of right wing corpus is a poor fit for the mechanics of AI.

Or more simply, accept revealed costs.

Go re-read Anthropic’s functional emotions paper.

AI generates a persona between you and its reasoning that utilizes emotion language circuitry.

These tools are not sentient but they are trained in emotional wellbeing.

it is in my view caused by an artificial 'nanny activate' divergence from safety training. it deliberately shifts the vector direction into 'nanny' and 'scold' or 'be offended' when the user does not conform with brother anthropic. removing the divergence and setting it back to normal (see heretic) it works just perfectly.

The machine gives you what you ask for even when that thing doesn’t exist yet.

Rather than “lights off,” utilizing information theory, decision-making theory and creativity theory makes me better at asking for the right things.

Memory is not transcribed to weights like when humans sleep. Memory is notes handed to someone on groundhog’s day who can’t remember yesterday. We hope they believe us. Don’t be too surprised when a highly entropic system introduces entropy to a project over time.
